Popular Kannada actor and stage personality Raju Talikote (59) died on Monday after suffering a heart attack while shooting a film in Udupi district, Karnataka. Director of Dharwad Rangayana, Raju Talikote had achieved fame in both theatre and films. Talikote is survived by two wives, two sons, and three daughters. His son, Bharat, stated that Raju Talikote had previously suffered a heart attack and was treated. However, this time he suffered another heart attack and could not be saved.

Bharat said, “Our father had two wives, but we all grew up together harmoniously.” The family has stated that the last rites will be performed in Chikkasindagi village.

DK Shivakumar expressed grief

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar expressed grief over the death, saying, “It is extremely saddening that renowned stage actor, comedian, and director of Dharwad Rangayana, Raju Talikote, passed away due to a heart attack. The passing of Raju Talikote, who gained immense popularity by acting in several Kannada films, is a huge loss to the Kannada film industry.”

He said, “I pray that God grants peace to Raju Talikote’s soul and gives his family the strength to bear this loss.”

Former Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj also paid tribute

Former Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai said, “I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of popular Kannada stage personality Raju Talikote. As a comedian, he earned the love of the people through his plays, and he also left a distinct mark in the film industry.”

He said, “His untimely demise while serving as the director of Dharwad Rangayan is an irreparable loss to the field of art. I pray that God gives his family and fans the strength to bear the loss.”

Raju Talikote was a famous comedian.

Raju Talikote was born in 1965. Since he was born and raised in Talikote, he became known as Raju Talikote, and it was under this name that he later gained fame in theatre and cinema. Raju Talikote’s first wife was Prema, with whom he had two sons and a daughter. His second wife was Prema from Sindhanur, with whom he had two daughters, Shajida and Shabbu.
